A Day at Venice

There's just something magical about a trip to Venice Fishing Lodge. For those that haven't had the experience firsthand, here's an overview of what to expect...

Arrival is generally the afternoon before the first day of fishing. You'll be met with open arms from the VFL team and even other clients winding down their own special trip. A four star dinner will be served in an environment that feels like home, but more fun. After a comfortable night's sleep in a bed one wouldn't expect at a fishing lodge, a pleasant knock on the door will start the day. Kim's voice saying, "Breakfast time Fishing time" has become the signature wake up call for an unforgettable day.

As the sun starts to peek over the marsh and after a quick but filling breakfast it's finally time to make the short drive down to launch. You'll finish the last cup of coffee while riding with an experienced guide that doesn't need waypoints and routes to navigate the vast expanse of fishable water. Once the boat is launched you'll make a final idle out of the harbor and it's a sight that even the most modern cameras can't fully capture. The next 8 hours are what the trip is really all about.

The fishing is hard to summarize. Let's just say you'll experience the most fertile expanse of inshore water on the globe. And it'll be done with a guide that doesn't act like he knows it all, but probably does. The style and locations you'll fish will vary based on the time of year, river level, weather, tides, and many other factors. Which is why you choose Venice Fishing Lodge in the first place.

As the fishing day winds to a close, the boat will be loaded, fish cleaned (if preferred), and it's finally time to relax and reflect on the day. That's easy done as you'll return to a kitchen full of appetizers and cool drink. After a shower and sharing of photographs it'll be time to repeat the process.
